USING UMP2

How to Install UMP2?

I noticed lot of People have problem for install the Ultimate Mappack 2.
First you need to download it on file front, or other server.

here is the file front link:

When the download is finish, open the Zip file, inside it you have a folder called UMP2.rar, de-compress it and open it.
Inside the UMP2.rar you have a folder called UMP2. Extract this whole Folder into your Alien Vs. Predator 2 directory (C:\..\fox\Alien Vs. Predator 2)
When the file is sucessful extract, run in your AJLMod folder into your Alien Vs. Predator 2 directory.
Search a file called "avp2cmds2.txt" (Warning: avp2cmds2.txt and not avp2cmds.txt )

Open the avp2cmds2.txt and at the end of it, put a space and wrote the access to the UMP2 ( -rez UMP2 ) save the file and launch the game, you have the Ultimate Mappack2 install.

Why -rez UMP2.rez Don't want to work?

It's easy, the UMP2 file is a folder file, not an extension .rez
If you download some file in folder format file, you need to put only -rez Name_Of_The_File
and nothing else.

JOING A SERVER

Using X-Fire:

I - Download X-fire
The first Thing you need is to download the software called "X-fire".
Download X-Fire: http://fr.xfire.com/download/now/
Install the software, X-fire will ask you to create a new account, create one.

II - Set Up X-Fire
After you've installed the Software and created an account, launch it.
On the top of the software hit "Tools" and then run to "Options".
The picture that follow show you how it should be:

A new window is now open.
Hit "Games" in the top and wait untill the scanner finished to detect games on your computer.
After that select "Aliens Vs. Predator 2" in the list and write in the "Extra Command line Parameters" :

-rez AJLMod/AJLMOD_BASE.rez -rez AJLMod/AJLMOD_UPD2.rez

Then press "Apply" and "ok", the window should be close.

Note: You can still add command line there for set up the UMP2, etc. just add the corresponding command (-rez UMP2 ; -rez mymap.rez ; etc. )

III - Set Up The Server List
Go back to the main menu of X-fire. On the left look at the computer icon. Check it.
At the bottom of the middle window, press "All" to reveal all server game that you can see.
Select "Aliens Vs. Predator 2" and "refresh the List. (Hit Refresh in the "Right" location windows.
Look at now at the bottom of this window at "Advanced Filter".
Check out the "Raw Informations" and set in order from left to right the box as this:
-gamenname
-starts with
-avp2mod

Now you've got the AJL R2.0 Server.

IV - Join A Server
Just double click on a Server that Appear in the list and the game will load.
When it ask "Do you want to use Gamespy arcade" Press "YES" and you're loading the server.

Using GameSpy Arcade with AJL Shortcut

All you need is to add an Extra Line parameters into your cmds which is:

X = IP
Y = Port

Here is an Example:

Launch the game, When it ask "Do you want to use Gamespy Arcade" say yes and it will load the access to the server.
